It’s relatable that Luke feels strongly about Lorelai for a long time, and it’s really nice to see him finally working up the courage to ask her out. This is the moment that everyone has been waiting for and it seems like nothing can get in their way. Viewers can tell that Lorelai doesn’t love that Luke is with Nicole, just like he hated when she was engaged to Max, but she focuses on Rory’s last year of high school and her plans to open up the Dragonfly Inn someday.

After this date, the two beloved characters are finally in a relationship, and their banter continues, which is great to see. Luke has watched Lorelai come into the diner thrilled about many love interests, and it’s satisfying that these two soulmates have found their way to each other. In the season 4 episode “Last Week Fights, This Week Tights,” Luke and Lorelai dance together, and Luke realizes that he’s totally in love. He knows that Lorelai is the one for him and that he doesn’t have to be scared anymore. He asks her to go out with him and fans definitely swoon remembering this sweet moment. In some ways, Logan is a great boyfriend for Rory, and it makes sense that by the time season 7 begins, the two are still in a relationship.

The two ran into each other in season 3, after both attending a course on how to run an inn, and immediately hit it off while Sookie and Alex’s friend catch up. However, despite their date seemingly going well, their shared love of coffee and a similar sense of humor is not enough to make them the perfect couple. Alex quickly disappears as the season goes on, as he is only mentioned when Lorelai runs into Max.
Jess Mariano was the bad boy, leather-jacket-wearing nephew of Luke Danes. When Jess’s mom could no longer handle his behavior, she sent him to live with Uncle Luke in Stars Hollow. As the season progresses, they begin flirting more and more, and Lorelai starts looking at Luke differently and thinking that he’s attractive. At Rory’s 16th birthday party, Emily comments on the sparks flying between these characters, and when Richard has a heart attack, Luke drives Lorelai to the hospital and stays to offer support. While Lorelai falls for Max, when Luke’s ex-girlfriend Rachel comes to town, she can tell that Luke loves Lorelai.
Her parents and love life inevitably become intertwined once again in Gilmore Girls as Jason does work with Richard, causing Jason’s father to threaten Richard’s business. Later on, this rivalry prompts Richard to make a deal with Jason’s father that excludes Jason from all his business pursuits. In turn, Jason decides to sue Richard for his actions, which leads to Lorelai breaking up with him and the end of their romantic relationship. As one of the many cameos that actors in Gilmore Girls made, Paul only appears for one episode in season 2. Similarly to Rune, Paul is not a memorable date for Lorelai or for Gilmore Girls fans. However, Paul is still quite a significant person in Lorelai’s life mainly becomes he is her first date after she broke off her engagement with Max earlier in the season.
Luke and Nicole’s dating relationship might have benefited from a longer timeframe of actual dating, but the pairing is still questionable. Paris’s dating relationship with Asher Fleming is one of the saddest on the show. The distinguished professor is an old friend of Richard Gilmore’s, which makes it even weirder that Paris dates him as an undergraduate.
